Simple n' Layerered… S/S 17 Style Inspiration - The Jewellery!

Now that we are close to hitting summer - actually very summer-like weather are upon us in Denmark these days, I have now made it to the last instalment of my S/S 17 style inspiration series.

This time I'm looking at the jewellery and as with some of the others, I return classics - simple silver and gold jewellery.
So I will (for the most part) stray away from statement jewellery and keep it simple, but mixing it up by layering them and mixing metals.

For these simple good quality pieces, but still at affordable prices, my go-to are & Other Stories and COS.
However ASOS also do have a great range of sterling silver jewellery worth checking out, but for this selection, I kept to the two above.

Sling It… S/S 17 Style Inspiration - The shoe!

For the most part I wear either boots or sneakers all year round, but for this coming season I'm have my eye on an old classic, I see coming back around time and time again - the slingback shoe.

As with many of my other picks for this little series, they can be worn both casual with jeans/shorts and a tee or be the perfect pairing with a dress or a nice trouser and top for a formal work look or night out.

Tassel Task… Inspiration - Easy DIY Simple Tassel Earrings!

I taking a little break from my S/S 17 trends and throwing in a little easy DYI for another (mini)trend for this season - tassel earrings.

I have been looking for a simple pair of tassel earrings at an affordable price for a while, but all the ones I could find had a lot of "extras" and were far from simple.
So in the end I decided to make my own and the result was exactly, what I wanted.

Show Some Ankle… S/S 17 Style Inspiration - The Trouser!

So now we made it to the fourth instalment of my Spring/Summer Style Inspiration Series - and in this one we will be looking at the trouser style, I think will be the one to go for the coming seasons.
It is not a new one - we have seen the culotte/cropped wide leg trouser in many forms the past few years, but I haven't really gotten into until now.

It also seem that the high street (especially Zara) have thrown their love on this style this season.
So there is lots colours, shapes and materials to choose from - I have collected some of my favourites for inspiration.

Return of a Classic… S/S 17 Style Inspiration: The Jacket!

My pick for a spring jacket is probably a bit controversial - partly because a blazer is a classic staple piece in most wardrobes, but also because compared to the other trends, I am featuring, this really doesn't seem to be one, where the high street agrees with me.
However after quite a break, I will be bringing out my black blazer once again, and I have seen that a lot of bloggers are leaning towards this more structured jacket as well.

Despite the fact, that the high street (in my opinion) haven't really caught up with the return of the blazer idea, I still managed to find a few good ones - but I really hope, that I will be right and that the high street will bring out a larger range in the coming months.

Red Alert… S/S 17 Style Inspiration - The Colour!

So for this next installment of my S/S inspiration, I will share the colour, which I predict (together with many high street shops) will be huge the coming seasons.

Red is the bold and sexy older sister to another season favourite pink.
Pink have made into pretty much every aspect of my life, however the red, I will keep to my wardrobe, but here I actually do prefer it to the pink. I am however toying with the idea of a red and pink outfit, whether I will be brave enough time will tell.
I will however for sure be pairing the red with some of the other trends, I will be including in this little series - and this is really the idea, that all of the trends can be mixed and matched together and some items might even cover several trends in one.

Alternative Stripes… S/S 17 Style Inspiration - The Pattern!

Over the next couple of weeks, I will be sharing some spring/summer style inspiration - I will try to stay away from the obvious trends and share with you some of the items, shapes, colours, I will be wearing these coming seasons, that might not be the ones mentioned over and over again, but still have shown their presence on the high street.

It is no secret, that I love stripes. Stripes just always go and there is a reason it is often associated with parisian chic.

My eye always gets drawn towards stripes, but recently I have seen quite a lot of new stripes in the mix differing from the classic blue/white or black/white - and I like it.

I have gathered some of my favourites from the high street to inspire you to try out this classic piece in a new form.

Pink me, please… Trend Inspiration - Pink!

Pink is the perfect example on how, when we are exposed to something enough, our eyes, not only get use to it, but also starts to quite enjoy it.
Pink has never been a "hate-colour" for me, and I have always been drawn towards the bubblegum pinks. But recently I find myself liking more and more pink items - and this is without a doubt because the "industry" wants me to feel this way.
I have no doubt, that pink is going to be a big one for spring/summer and I really don't mind.

The highstreet shops still have most in the light dusty almost beige version, but I think and hope we will see a lot more of the brighter pinks.

Here are some of my top picks and inspiration for pink item.

1. H&M Bomber // 2. H&M Knit //  3. Weekday Shirt // 4. Weekday Beanie //
// 5. Nike Sneakers // 6. ASOS Backpack //
// 7. Essie I need a Vacation // 8. H&M Velvet Pillow // 9. H&M Throw //

It is that time of the year… My picks and tips to shopping the sale!

Christmas is over and the sales are on - we had actually not even made it to Christmas eve before all my favourite webshops had started their sales.

I really try not get carried away, but I have to admit, that yesterday a made a very unplanned sale purchase at COS - a "very unlike me" pink coat, which is unfortunately no longer available online.
But usually I try to stick to a couple of rules, when it comes to sale shopping.

But first lets look at some of my (other) sale picks. These are not all pieces, I have purchased, as my budget this year is limited - but it is the pieces, that I think are great sale picks.

Lazy Chic… Style Inspiration - Cosy wear for student life!

Right now I'm trying to get through my thesis and have been spending a bit of time at the library.
I have been at uni for quite a while now and already on my first year, I fell in love with the comfortable and chic style, which is perfect for student life.

It quite a balance to dress for student life - because you want to be comfortable, if sitting and study for many hours, but you also want to look chic, especially if you are going to the library or lectures.

Below are some of my student wardrobe winter staples.
They happen to be all from H&M - this post is not sponsored, I just really think H&M is killing the cosy wear right now. It also means, that you could actually get this entire wardrobe for under 200 pounds.

1. Star Wars Hoodie 2. Soft Sweatshirt 3. Long Cardigan 4. Long Shirt 5. Nirvana T-shirt
6. Granddad shirt 7. Grey Classic Joggers 8. Girlfriend Jeans 9. Wool Socks

Velvet Vail… Inspiration - Velvet!

I feel so old - I have reached the point, where I time and time again see trends come back, that have already been a trend in my life time.
This time it is velvet - at first I wasn't to happy to see this trend coming back, but once my eyes got used to it and I realised, that I did not have to go all the way and actually "wear" velvet, I warmed up to the idea of a bit of velvet in my life.

As I really can't see my self wearing velvet, I have gone the accessories route with my picks.
Here I actually think velvet do what it does best - just adding a bit of texture.

From my picks it becomes quite clear, that I'm lean towards a very certain colour palette - the blues, black and greys (just like a lot of other things in my life).
However velvet really do go great in almost every jewel tone out there and if you are into the pinks, some dusty pink velvet can also be really pretty.

Space Cadet… Style Inspiration - Metallic Silver!

As I mentioned before, I not by per definition a trend follower - I have my staple wardrobe and every season I normally get drawn to a trend or two. As you know, I'm quite fond of the badge-trend, we saw this Autumn.
It is often one of those micro-trends, that I come a cross by checking the "new in" section on my favourite webshops pretty much every day.

One of the micro-trends, that really caught my eye coming into Winter has been metallic - especially silver.
It started with the cami top from H&M, which undoubtedly looks like something my mom had in her closet in the late 80's or early 90's and from then, I found myself searching for "silver" on all the shops.

So I gathered some inspiration for this trend.

Puf Puf Puf… Style Inspiration - The Puffer Jacket/Coat!

If you are a child of the 90's like me, you will remember, when the puffer jacket was last, the thing to wear!
Back then the cool kids wore the short version (preferable oversized) and the more stylish women wore the slim fit longer version.

Now they are back in all shapes, sizes and colours - after the comeback of the bomber jacket, which was also a huge 90's trend, it was really only a matter of time before we would see the puffers comeback.

And I'm so digging the comeback, because this is probably the most comfortable and warm outer wear option ever made - it is literally like wearing a duvet!

Earn your badges styles part II… Style Inspiration - How I style my Badge Shirt!

So this is the last part in my little badge series. This time I will style the ASOS Blue Shirt.
As I mentioned in my first badge post, I really like the contrast between this classic piece and the badges.

I did a more formal and a casual option as with the bomber, and trying also so incorporate some other A/W trends.

Outfit one
// ASOS Shirt // H&M Pleather Skirt // ASOS Colour Block Wool Coat // & Other Stories Boots //
// Whistles Clutch //

Earn your badges styled part I… Style Inspiration - How I style my badge bomber jacket!

I have been reaching for my Badge Bomber as often as possible - I only let it hang, if I have been wearing another statement piece (like my new silver boots)!

Because that is pretty much the most important thing, in styling this piece - let it shine alone!

I have styled it up in two ways - a more formal and a more casual! However the bomber itself has quite a casual look, so it is not one to wear for a very formal occasion.

Earn Your Badges… Style Inspiration - Badges/Patches!

I'm not a uncritical trend follower, but once in while a trend comes along, that I just can't resist.
This Autumn/Winter the trend, that have really taken me by storm, is badges (or patches, if you prefer).

It all started with a visit to Debenhams in London back in August (the day before my 31st birthday) - on my way to the restroom, something caught my eye and I just knew, that I would regret it, if I didn't get it. Also I thought, that it would be perfect to make clear to my surroundings, that I might be over 30, but I'm not going to dress (or act) like one.
The item in question - the H By Henry Holland Badge Bomber Jacket.

Since I have seen this trend everywhere, I have however limited myself to only one more badged item in my wardrobe.
But I still thought, I would give you some inspiration on which badged items you could incorporate into your wardrobe.

1. Mango Jumpsuit 2. Zara Long Shirt 3. ASOS Blue Shirt 4. Zara Jeans 5. ASOS Stribed Tee
6. New Look Beanie 7. Monki Bag 8. H by Henry Holland Bomber 9. Monki Iron on Patches

Bringing back an old classic… Style Inspiration - Adidas Logo T-shirt Styled Three Ways!

A few years back I loved me a good printed t-shirt, but actually got rid of most during my several clear outs the last year.
And I wasn't really planing on bringing any new ones into my wardrobe - that was until I got bitten by the bug, the Adidas bug.
Lets go back about 20 years and my Adidas track suit was probably only of my favourite clothing items and I often avoid these kind of trends, that I have seen before, mainly because it makes me feel so damn old!

But Adidas is also nostalgia and lets be real, there are just something real cool about the trefoil logo!
So of course I had to have me a Adidas Logo Tee (I got mine here)! I went with the mens version, as I do prefer the relaxed fit, but this also demands quite a bit from the styling, if you don't want to look like a boy!

So below I will show you three way, I would style it, for three different occasions!

// H&M Ripped Girlfriend Jeans // Zara Patched Cargo Jacket // ASOS Lace-Up Pointed Flats //
// Quay On the Prowl Sunnies // H&M Silver Cuff // COS Nude Clutch //

I'm not going there… Style - Trends I will not be rocking!

I often share with you, which season trends I will be adding to my wardrobe.
But I thought it would be kind of interesting to turn it around and show you which items/trends, I will not be rocking.

Trends and style is a very individual thing, so please don't be offended if one of the below are your favourite - for the most part, it is just, that it is not for me and actually I find, that it looks amazing on other people.
This post is also to shed a bit of light on the importance of being true to yourself and your style and not being a fashion-slave.
I really love, that people have become so much more confident and rock their style and only pick the trends, that they really like.

Lux for less… Style - Luxury Bags for Less!

I'm the definition of a bag lady - in the good way though!
Ever since I was in my teens, I've been obsessed with bags and I got my first designer bag on a trip to Rome, when I was 17 - it was a Gucci Bardot in tan. The whole experience was amazing and this was the first time I had the feeling, that a bag was talking to me.
I have had this feeling so many times since and I have to say, it is quite a special one.

However I don't have the budget for going out and buying designer bags, so my designer purchases since the Gucci has been limited to a Marc by Marc Jacobs Clutch and my Alexander Wang (neither in the really high end price-wise).
But it has actually had a very positive effect, as it has made me realise, that you can easily get the feeling at a more budget-friendly price.

So for this post I have gathered some tips for getting the luxury feeling/look for less as well as my favourites shops to go to, when looking for it.

But lets start with some inspiration for luxury feeling bags at a more budget-friendly price, that are available right now in my favourite shops.

Season selections… Style Inspiration - Spring/summer additions!

While spring is not really showing itself at its best here in Copenhagen, I'm confident, that soon I will be able to wear open shoes, lighter layers and show more skin.

Every season I plan out which more "trendy" and seasonal pieces, I want to add to my wardrobe, and as usual I'm sharing my thoughts with you, so hopefully it will give you some inspiration.
