Earn Your Badges… Style Inspiration - Badges/Patches!

I'm not a uncritical trend follower, but once in while a trend comes along, that I just can't resist.
This Autumn/Winter the trend, that have really taken me by storm, is badges (or patches, if you prefer).

It all started with a visit to Debenhams in London back in August (the day before my 31st birthday) - on my way to the restroom, something caught my eye and I just knew, that I would regret it, if I didn't get it. Also I thought, that it would be perfect to make clear to my surroundings, that I might be over 30, but I'm not going to dress (or act) like one.
The item in question - the H By Henry Holland Badge Bomber Jacket.

Since I have seen this trend everywhere, I have however limited myself to only one more badged item in my wardrobe.
But I still thought, I would give you some inspiration on which badged items you could incorporate into your wardrobe.

1. Mango Jumpsuit 2. Zara Long Shirt 3. ASOS Blue Shirt 4. Zara Jeans 5. ASOS Stribed Tee
6. New Look Beanie 7. Monki Bag 8. H by Henry Holland Bomber 9. Monki Iron on Patches
Pretty much no matter which way you go, wearing a badged item will be a statement.
However the amount of badges, the placement of then and the look of the badges, will make a difference to how much of a statement.

So if you aren't into the full blown badge look, go for something with fewer badges, such as the ASOS Tee with only one badge or the Mango Jumpsuit.
You could also choose the more understated option with something like the Zara Long Shirt with more low key grey-toned badges.
If you only want a bit of the trend pick an accessory, like the New Look Beanie.

But if you like me can't get enough and really want the statement, do go all out.
Here heavily badged jeans, jackets (bomber, denim or army) or shirts are a good way to go, as they are a twist on classic items, most of us already have in our wardrobe.
If you have an old jacket or pair of jeans, you could also go the DIY route and buy some badges and do a bit of customising.

Lastly a heavily badged bag or clutch is an another fun and easy way to get the look.

As mentioned I decided, that I could only have two badged items in my wardrobe. So in addition to the bomber, I went for the ASOS blue shirt, as I love this mix between the very classic piece and the badges.

In my next two posts, I will give you some inspiration on how I style these two items.

Oh, and if you want even more badged/patched option, just go to your favourite online shop and search for badge or patch.
