So as promised I'm back with the second part of my summer make up look with products reviews - if you didn't see the last one, you can see it here.
Just to recap - I did a dewy light base with glossy peachy cheeks, a simple eye with a bright colorful twist and matte lips.
Today I will take you through my thoughts on the NYX eye pencil and liquid liner and the Sephora and NYX matte lip options.
NYX Vivid Brights Liquid Liner in Vivid Blossom
I love doing colourful liner in the Summer months and really think it adds a bit of pow in a very cool way.
So when I saw the new line of NYX Vivid Bright Liners, I could not resist. It is a beautiful range of colours, but this lilac just stood out to me and I had to go on quite a hunt to get it.
It is super easy to apply and you can do both a thin, or as I did here, a more thick line with ease.
It dries up a bit darker than when first swatches, but I think it is absolutely beautiful and it stays in place all day!
I paired it with a matte midtone brown shadow all over the lid and will definitely recommend to let the liner be the focus.
This is everything I wanted and at a very reasonable price - so it gets a 5 on the Rating Scale.
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Lavender
To add a bit of glow to the inner corner, but still keep it in the lilac family, I added this.
I've heard great things about these Jumbo Pencils over the years, but I'm actually a bit disappointed - I had hoped, that the colour would be more vivid.
I don't think it applies as it swatches, which is a problem I often have with these chubby eye pencils.
I could easily have lived without this, so because of this I can only give it a 2 on the Rating Scale.
Sephora Cream Lip Stain in 06
I'm not really a lover of the matte lip, so I been a bit hesitant to go out and invest in a more expensive version, but a while back I got this, so I could test, if I could become a lover.
For this look I used it at the outer edge of my lips and then added the NYX Lip Cream on the top - I will get to why below.
I love the colour of this one, but it is just so drying on the lips, and I still just don't think, I really love the matte look on me.
It does however really go on opaque in one coat and does stay in place really well.
I prefer it with a bit of gloss on top, but this is just not one, I see myself reaching for on the daily - so because of that, I can only give it a 3 on the Rating Scale., which is mainly for the colour, staying power and opaque finish.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Istanbul
Hold on, this is going to be controversial - I really don't like this!
It is way to sheer and no matter how many layers I apply, it never really gets opaque, which just doesn't look pretty with a matte finish!
It never really sets and therefore doesn't last very well and it does smear, if you aren't careful.
It might just be me (the matte lip hater) or the shade I got, but I so don't get the hype - so I have to give this a 1 on the Rating Scale.
Looking back, I would not pair that eye with that lip, as it does borderline a bit 80's!
So because of this and me not being to impressed with the lip products, I will be opting for a light pink or nude gloss or even just a lip balm from now on.
But I will be keeping the dewy base and glossy cheeks with the bright lilac liner.
I hope you enjoyed this little series and that it gave you some inspiration for your summer make up.
