Summer is here and I thought it was time for a little make up inspiration, but to mix it up a bit, I will do small reviews on some of the products, I used, that are all somewhat summer appropriate and I haven't talked about before.
I did a dewy base with a glossy cheek, simple eyes with a bright colorful twist and matte lips.
Today I will do face products - including primer, foundation, concealer and blush.
And in a few days I will be back with eyes and lips.
The Body Shop Instaglow CC Cream in Bright Glow
I got this, kind of hoping, it would have more of a tinted moisturiser coverage - however as this was not the case, I have been testing it as a primer.
It has a long list of "benefits" - unfortunately I don't feel it really live up to them and worse of all, it does sting a bit on my cheeks when applied, even though it claims to be "suitable for sensitive skin"!
This is not a glow primer in the same category as glow primers such as Becca Backlight Primer or Laura Mercier Radiance Primer, but it does provide a bit of very subtle glow and brightness to the skin.
In terms of reducing shine, I actually think it does - however it does not provide the moisture as promised, which doesn't really make it ideal for me and my dry skin.
This could be a good choice for the oily girls, that are a bit worried about using other glow products.
I have actually also been using it and not hating it for the very warm days - So it didn't live up to the expectations for me, but I definitely don't hate it and think a lot of people would really like it - so it gets a 3 on the Rating Scale.

L'Oreal Cushion Foundation in Porcelain
I was a bit hesitant to try this out, as it seems very gimmicky to me, but after months of trying it out on my hand every time, I came near it and hearing amazing things about it, I caved - and I'm so glad, I did.
This has made it to the top of my highstreet/drugstore foundations.
It has great light (but buildable) coverage and the dewy finish I love, which make it perfect for summer.
I actually have grown to love the packaging - it makes it great on the go and for travel.
This is without a doubt the perfect summer foundation.
My only complaint is (as with so many other foundations), that even this lightest shade is a bit to dark for me, however blended carefully, you barely see it.
This gets a 5 on the Rating Scale.
Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Chantilly
I had heard that the Maybelline Fit Me concealer, that I love, was a dupe for this one and as that one doesn't really go as light shade-wise, as I would like, I decided to give this a go, when I ran out of my Urban Decay Naked concealer.
I also though it would be great to further the dewy look, I love in the summer, however I was actually a bit disappointed about the level of "dew" in this one.
It is really heavy duty and actually a bit hard to blend in - I probably had a bit to high hopes for this one. I do see that if you really like a high coverage, this is great, but I probably prefer something a bit lighter, such as the Urban Decay Naked Concealer.
It does stay in place, so in that way it is perfect for hot and humid summer days and for that and the flawless finish it creates, I'll give it a 3 on the Rating Scale - but I doubt, I'll repurchase.
Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in Fresh Melon
I love a good cream blush - non of this cream to powder s**t - no, a straight up cream blush, that stay creamy on the cheeks. This is just that!
It blends into the skin like a dream and leave the most healthy dewy peachy glow.
It doesn't have the greatest lasting power, but I don't care, because it is easy to re-apply during the day on the go.
This is definitely not for the oily ones, but it you like me love a really glossy cheek, this is perfection.
It will be a my go-to blush for summer and it therefore gets a 4 on the Rating Scale (it would get a 5, if the lasting power was better).
So this were the face products - I also used a bit of contour and the NYX Correcting Concealer under the eyes as well as a bit of my Hourglass powder.
I will be back soon with the eye and lip products.
