It has been a while, since I last did a non-beauty favourites - I don't do them as often, mainly because I find it a bit more difficult to gather the everyday stuff and also make sure, that it will be somewhat current and interesting for you guys to hear about.
But I gathered some good stuff for this one, so I hope you will get a bit of inspiration - because don't we all need a bit more inspiration on what to buy, eat and see :-)
& Other Stories Leather Bag // ASOS Reckon Leather Boots // & Other Stories Ring // Old thin gold chain |
Bag, boots and bling
If you like good quality leather bags with a cool edge, & Other Stories is the place to go.
I got this & Other Stories Leather Bag with some Christmas money, and I have been using it pretty much every day since.
It has the perfect size for everyday and fits all the essentials without being to bulky and it has a long strap, so it can be worn cross body.
& Other Stories bags are a bit more pricey than other high street brands, but I think the quality and design is worth it.
They have great sales and you can also bring in old clothes for recycle and get a 10 % off voucher (Read more about it here - totally sounds like I'm sponsored, I'm not, I just think, it is a great idea!)
I can't wear heels, I have accepted that and moved on to better things (aka. sneakers).
However sometimes I still like to look a bit more, in lack of a better world, feminine, and has therefore been on the hunt for a reasonable priced leather ankle boots with a slight heel.
That I found in the ASOS Reckon Ankle Boots - I got the black leather ones first and liked them so much, that I decided also to get the grey/green suede ones (which are the more comfortable ones).
I still can't walk around in them all day long, but they are fine for an event or if I'm doing something with a lot of sitting down and I would also wear them to work.
They are an absolute steal for the price and looks so much more expensive.
Of course I couldn't do a favourites without an & Other Stories jewellery piece.
I was eyeing this & Other Stories Chunky Rock Ring up for quite a while, but didn't really know, if it was my style - but once I realised, that I was actually missing a more delicate gold ring in my collection, there was no doubt.
It also adds a bit of femininity to a more edgy and plain outfit.
I had this plain thin gold chain for many years and have had different pendants on it.
But recently I have really been liking the look of just this plain chain.
So check your jewellery box, you probably have something similar in there.
Skinnydip Talking Unicorn iPhone case // Sugar Snaps & Sweet Potato on Royal Copenhagen Plate // H&M Black Oval Vase & H&M Stoneware Vase // |
Gadget, food and home stuff
I had a very nice and kind of grown up marble iPhone case, so when it came to getting a new, I decided to go the complete opposite direction and get one with glitter and talking unicorns.
This Skinnydip Talking Unicorn iPhone case is just perfection and quite the conversation starter - I love it!
My current food obsessions (of the more healthy kind) are sugar snaps and sweet potatoes.
I mainly eat the sugar snaps raw as a snack, but do also love them in salads and with fried rice.
I love the sweet potatoes any way they can be cooked, but I tend to either make them as oven baked fries or baked in the microwave for a quick meal.
I have had the black swirly vase from Normann Copenhagen for years, but never really felt that I could find the perfect setting for it in my home - when I came across the H&M Stoneware Vase and H&M Black Oval Vase, I got a vision!
The trio looks so good together - H&M Home (another favourite) is amazing for these kind on trend home decor pieces and at a great price.
Film and music
I have seen quite a bit of movies the past few months and all of them were quite good, but a few stood out to me.
After Lady Gaga's very emotional performance at the Oscars, I just had to the see the documentary "The Hunting Ground", and I wasn't disappointed.
It is such a powerful and scary, but somehow also very life affirming story.
I'm probably one the "foreigners", that have always had a very romantic fantasy about American university/college life, and this documentary really puts this fantasy into perspective.
The documentary led me to my music favourite - Birdy with Words As Weapons is played in a scene and it just moved me so much, so it has been going on repeat.
On a more upbeat note, I have also been loving Major Lazer, Light It Up - the perfect car song.
I also saw "Testament of Youth" a while ago, and that also really left a lasting impression.
A tragic and beautiful story set during World War I.
So this ended up being quite a long one - maybe I should do a monthly one with just a few ones.
