Volume on budget… Product Battle/Review - L'Oreal False Lash Sculpt Mascara & Revlon Ultra Volume Mascara!

I find it really hard to keep to just one mascara and buy that one over and over again.
I do have a few, that I have repurchased (which I should probably do a post about), but with all the options and continuously new launches, I just get to tempted.

As I did with these two.
Even though neither L'Oreal nor Revlon do my all time favourite mascaras, I do have had quite good luck with these brands before.

L'Oreal Paris False Lash Sculpt Mascara // Revlon Ultra Volume Mascara
The L'Oreal Sculpt mascara have gotten quite a lot of hype online, but I haven't really heard anything about the new Revlon line, so I was of course intrigued by both.

The Sculpt has a very unique plastic bristle wand, that you really need to get a handle on and get use to.
So the first time I used it, I really didn't like it at all, but the more I've used it, I have been warming up to it.
It is super black and almost glossy, which gives a really intense look.
It does give good volume, but I feel like it does make my lashes look a bit short a stumpy.
I didn't get the waterproof version, but it stays great on the lashes during the day, but this also makes it a bit of pain to remove at night.

The Ultra Volume has a very standard wand, so it is pretty easy going.
I love the packaging, it is sleek and simple.
It isn't as black and the formula is quite dry, and somehow I don't really feel like it gives as much volume as one would expect from a volume mascara - it does however give quite good length.
The dry formula also results in quite a bit of fall down during the day and at the end of the day there are pretty much no mascara left on the lashes.

1. No mascara // 2. L'Oreal False Lash Sculpt // 3. Revlon Ultra Volume // 4. Revlon Ultra Volume with L'Oreal False Lash Sculpt on top
So neither of the two really wowed me, so I started playing around with the them together.
On the forth picture above, I have them on my lashes together with Ultra Volume first and Sculpt over.
I thought this would be best to "lock in" Ultra Volume, but upon further try out, I found, that I actually like the look of Sculpt first and Ultra Volume on top best (this is unfortunately not featured in the pictures).

I do prefer using just one mascara, that do it all, but I often see myself doing this kind of layering with mascaras to get the look, I like.

I have still to find my holy grail mascara, that will stop me buying any other mascara - however I don't really see it happen ever (for the above mentioned reasons), but one can hope :-)

For now, I will give the L'Oreal Sculpt a 3 on the Rating Scale and the Revlon Ultra Volume a 2 - together the a very close to a 4.
