I'm happy that the glossy look has finally made a come back.
Don't get me wrong, I like a matte or more satin lip from time to time, but a glossy lip just do something a bit more special for me.
So I was happy to see the new L'oreal lip launch, which seemed to go back to roots of lip gloss - a straight up gloss, that isn't trying to be something else.
I got a bright and a nude, both cream, to give them a good try.
L'Oreal Paris Infallible Mega Gloss in Mafia Gloss and Girl on Top |
The gloss comes in five finishes - matte, neon, dazzle, xtreme and cream. I got two in cream, which just seemed to be most up my street, but I'm intrigued to try some of the other finishes.
I really like the sleek packaging and the curved applicator, which gives perfect application.
Be careful though as it can pick a bit to much product.
They have a subtle scent of vanilla/cake, which I really like - I don't think any one will find it offensive.
I got the colours Mafia Gloss (a bright pink) and Girl on Top (a pink nude).
They are not pigmented like the hybrid products we have seen they past years, but I still feel they are more pigmented than a lip gloss used to be, especially the bright pink.
I really would have liked the Mafia Gloss to be less pigmented, because it is kind of an awkward pigmentation, that makes it hard to wear alone, but a bit to pigmented to wear over other lip products.
I do however not have that problem with Girl on Top, it goes well alone for subtle gloss and colour, but also works really well over other products.
Texture- and finish-wise I really think, they are perfect - they have minimal amount of stickiness and give a beautiful glossy and luscious look to the lips. As an added bonus they are also really moisturising.
I would definitely get more of this, but still to the more nude and less pigmented ones.
Overall I give them a 4 on the Dodo rating scale, if I had to look at them individually, I could only give the Mafia Gloss a 2, but the Girl on Top gets a 5.
