Every highstreet skincare brand with respect for themselves have launched a micellar water - but recently two of them also added a version for dry skin.
As a micellar water fan and dry skinned girl, I couldn't resist giving both a go.
I have used the original Garnier one for while and liked it (didn't love), but I have been wanting to try the Nivea ever since it came out, it was just never on offer, when I was running low.
Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water for Dry & Sensitive Skin // Nivea Gentle Caring Micellar Water for Dry Skin |
I have been doing the whole, half face Garnier and half face Nivea try-out every night for a week or so, to make sure I give you a very thorough comparison.
Lets start with the most important - their make up removing skills.
Both do a fine job, but I feel that Nivea removes the eye make up with a very minimal amount of rubbing, however it does sting the eyes just a tad, but absolutely nothing major.
The Garnier doesn't sting at all, and are between the two, the one that feels most like water, but it also requires a bit more rubbing.
I have had problems with other "regular" micellar waters drying out my skin a bit and therefore having to do second cleanse or moisturiser right after using it.
With both of these I can wait with my cleansing without getting any tight or dry feeling on my face.
I have tried to figure out, which side "dries" out first, but they are so close, that I can't pick one over the other on this point.
However I really like the idea, that the Nivea has natural almond oil quite high on the ingredient list.
They are very comparable price-wise, but it has to be mentioned, that the Garnier has twice the amount of product - so this is a better bargain.
I really like both, and have a hard time picking one over the other, so in the future, I will probably go with the one, that is on sale.
However if I had to pick one, I probably slightly prefer the Nivea one.
