The beauty industry has changed - we have more beauty brands now than ever and see new ones launching all the time.
This means a huge amount of new products, launches and re-launches, meaning that it is pretty much impossible to keep up - even for beauty addicts.
It also has two ofter "consequences" - firstly we hype up a lot of products, that we very quickly forget about again, because something new comes along, we have to try.
Secondly there are a quite the chance, that we will miss something good out there!
So I thought, I would give these two categories some love in this little two part series.
Today I will go through some of the products, that were really hyped at some point, but we never really hear about anymore - probably not because we don't love it, just because we got distracted by something new.
1. Revlon Lip Butter
These were all the rave like 4 years ago - I also gave into the hype then, but actually ended up stating, that I like the L'Oreal version better, something I have regretted many times since.
It isn't all the colours in this line, that are great, but the two I have (Berry Smoothie and Pink Truffle) are some of my favourite lip products.
They are a great tinted lip balm, which moisturises the lips and leave them looking plump and lush, just the way I like them.
2. Benefit Sugarbomb Box Blush
This was everyones favourite back, when I got into make up six years ago, and it was also one of my first more expensive make up buys.
I still love it, especially when my skin is looking a bit lackluster, because this is just the perfect perk to the cheeks.

3. Maybelline Rocket Volum' Express Mascara
Mascaras are probably one of the items, where we see the most new releases, but I haven't been really excited about a new mascara release since this one.
I have repurchases it multiple times and always gets so pleasantly surprised by it.

4. Caudalie Beauty Elixir
A lot of beauty-gurus called this a princess products, but still raved about it.
For me it became a staple in my skincare routine, and I've use it every day instead of toner, and I see an instant change in my skin, if I'm without it.
So I think this deserves a lot more love still and even though the price is a bit high, it is worth it for me and my skin.

5. Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation
Until I tried the L'Oreal Cushion Foundation (that I have been raving about recently), this was my favourite drugstore foundation.
I got quite a bit of hype back then, but I really haven't heard any one talking about it since, which I think is a bit to bad.
(see my original thoughts about it here)

6. MAC Woodwinked
This is probably one of the most popular MAC eye shadows of all time.
I still see people using it once in a while, but with all the new palettes, MAC single eye shadows are just not that talked about any more.
It still my go-to, if I want a very pigmented sultry bronze eye. And I love that I can create it with only this shadow.

7. Laura Mercier Mineral Powder
Before I got really into make up, I always used a mineral powder as my base.
I kind of forgot about it, when I discovered what else was out there.
But I always heard so many good things about this one from Laura Mercier, so when I had a bit of extra pounds to spend in Gatwick Airport a few years ago, I got it.
I really love it and don't get, why people never talk about it any more.

8. Kevyn Aucoin Celestial Powder in Candlelight
In a time where Highlighters are the new black, it is probably not that surprising, that this old, but very hyped one, kind of got left behind.
However if you don't like a very in your face highlight, this is the absolute perfect one.
It literally gives the kind natural lid from within glow.
(see swatch and review here).
9. Moroccanoil Light
I have tried a million and one hair oils over the years, but I always return to this cult product.
Most other oil leaved my hair feeling greasy and weight down, but not this one.
And it lasts forever, especially now with my shorter hair, so it is absolute worth the price-tag.
What product, that was once raved about, do you still love?
