Some one once told me, that when you get older, it feels like time is going by faster - I totally get that.
I remember, when I was a kid and a school year felt like the longest time ever. Hell even the summer holiday felt really long.
I don't feel like this any more at all - time just goes by so quickly and sometimes I really wish, I could pause it for just a bit once in a while.
But enough philosophic rant about time for now - lets look at my June beauty favourites.
Body & skincare
// Dove Summer Revived // Caudalie Instant Detox Mask // & Other Stories Perle the Coco Body Wash // The Body Shop Coconut Perfume // |
Ever year around this time, I normally feature a gradual tanner - I don't really have a preference, so I just go with the one, that is on offer.
This year is it was Dove Summer Revived - it is nothing amazing, but it really does the job and take away the worse white cast - on my legs especially.
That the Caudalie Instant Detox Mask made into the monthly favourites, is probably not a surprise, if you saw my review - I did actually give it the Holy Grail stamp.
I don't see myself being without this now or in the future - it is just the most amazing mask and I really want to try out the other masks in this line now.
I really love the & Other Stories bath & body range, and recently they came out with this very appropriate summer scent (they do very often bring out new scent).
This & Other Stories Perle the Coco Body Wash just makes taking a shower so much more fun, it smells like a sweet candy bar, but without being sickly. And I absolute adore the packaging!
I don't really remember if I have featured this in a favourites before, but The Body Shop Coconut Perfume is one of my absolute favourite perfumes and one I repurchase over and over again.
This is hands down the perfume I get the most compliments on - I have even hard men sniffing me intensely in the supermarket.
And they all say the same - it just smell like summer holiday!
Make up
// Soap & Glory Brow Archery // L'Oreal Cushion Foundation // Bourjois Java Powder // Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in Fresh Melon // |
One day recently I needed to do my brows in a rush, and I reached for this old favourite, the Soap & Glory Brow Archery and just fell in love all over again.
The shade is perfect and the result is just the right one, if you have a day, where you don't want totally defined brows, but just need a bit of filling in.
I will definitely be getting a new one of these, when I go to London in August.
(se my original review here, but bear in mind that I do do my brows really different now from then).
Again if you saw my summer make up look, you will probably not be surprised either to see the L'Oreal Cushion Foundation in my favourites.
It is without a doubt my new favourite drugstore foundation and I will be so sad, if they ever discontinue it.
I forgot about it for a few weeks, but this past weekend I got it out again and I fell in love all over again.
I have had the Bourjois Java Powder in my collection for ages and never really used or liked it.
But recently I wanted to try out setting my under eye area with my Beauty Blender and a loose powder, and this was the only loose powder, I had. So I decided to give it a go and I really loved the result.
I does have a bit of a sheen, but it really helps brighten up my under eye area and this technique makes it last all day.
Another favourite from the summer make up look is the Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in Fresh Melon.
This is just my perfect cream summer blush and I have been reaching for it all the time and can't seem to stop.
So these were my June favourites, I see them go with me long into July and August.
