The Longest Day of My Life… A day in my life in pictures - 23rd December 2013.

So this is a bit late, because I was pretty much exhausted the rest of my Christmas Holiday at home, so I didn't really feel up to experiencing this day all over again.

However I wanted to share this day with you and also to have the memory and the reminder, that I did actually make it home.

So the 23rd of December was the day, I was scheduled to fly back home for Christmas, which I had looked forward to for weeks.

Late on Saturday the 21st, I realised that a storm was to hit the UK on the 23rd!

I kind of panicked and a million thoughts went through my head.

I went through a lot of solutions, but ended up with heading up to the airport very early to make sure, I would not miss my flight, because I couldn't get up to the airport.

So my day started at 3.30 am at the coach station, all packed and ready to go.

My outfit of the day really showed my love for H&M (shirt, sweater and trouser from H&M, Michael Kors Watch and ASOS boots)

Around 7 am I arrived at the airport, so ready to get some sleep.

I had booked a day room at hotel called Yotel. 

It is a fantastic concept, a cabin hotel based on the idea of the japanese cabin hotels.

There was everything I needed, a bed, TV, bathroom and free Internet.

And the location was literally in the airport, so everything you needed was right there.

After a great feast from M&S (sorry I eat the sandwich) and some TV watching, I took a nap in the shadow of this purple/pink light - so cool!

After my nap I needed a snack and went with my first ever Costa, I have to say, I prefer Starbucks.

And look at my cool socks.

After a lot of waiting and following the news online and on the TV, I finally decided at 6 PM, after confirming, that my flight had left from Copenhagen, to go and check in.

And was very happy to be somewhat on my way.

A quick stop duty free and then just a small early Christmas present.

Had a great dinner at Pret, love this salad.

And then started the waiting - My flight was suppose to leave at 8.25 PM, it was delayed several times, and we didn't end up departing until around 10.30 PM, and yes it was windy. I have to admit, I think, I kind of peed my pants a bit, when we took of.

But once we were in the air everything was fine, and 1 1/2 hour later we reached beautiful Copenhagen.

Almost 24 hours later I reached my destination - moms house.

And the best thing was seeing this guy :-)

And of course spending time with my family and friends - the 10 days went by so fast.

Now I back in the UK, but only for another 3 weeks.

And even though I love the UK, I can't wait to go back to my city, my flat, my car, my cat, my friends and family :-)
