If you follow me on Instagram (if you don't, you should - @Juliemb5), you will have seen, that I this past weekend did something, that is very unlikely for me - I wore the same pair of trousers two days in a row.
The star? - A pair of wide leg jersey trousers from H&M (get them here or in store).
I really didn't think, I was going to do the wide leg trouser trend - I just couldn't see it go with my style and wardrobe or my short legs.
With that said, I still felt very drawn to them, when I saw them in store, and after a trip to the fitting rooms, I went straight to the checkout.
I think the fabric is a main part in me loving them.
Jersey has this relaxed feel, but also make them fall so nicely, and oh they are so comfortable.
I thought, I might not be the only one, who is a bit hesitant about the wide leg trend, so to convince you, I would give you some inspiration to a day-look and an evening-look featuring these wonderful trousers.
Day - Casual Relaxed
For a day outfit I would pair the trousers with a shirt with turned up sleeves - a striped as this one or a denim shirt for an even more relaxed look.
The wide leg trousers go great with another of my favourite spring/summer trends, the waistcoat (get inspirations for waistcoats here).
You often see the wide leg trouser paired with platforms, but that will never go with me and my bad balance and really isn't my style, but a slip-on shoes are actually a great companion for them as well, and really adds to relaxed feel.
Add a cuff and cross body bag and you have a perfect relaxed chick day look.
Evening - Formal Chick
For an evening outfit go for a light woven tank or cami - do whatever colour you like (maybe something a bit more bright), I just really love dark blue and black together.
Layer a light kimono look shirt or jacket over (this one has the most amazing detail on the back).
Again, I don't do high heels or platforms, but I can do a pointed pair of flats, which will dress up the look.
Finish of with a clutch and a long necklace.
So are you convinced?
I'm so in love - so much so, that I'm actually contemplating getting a back up pair!
