I had an absolute horrible experience with this cleanser.
So in the hope of sparring some of you the same miserable experience, I'm going to share it.
Just a disclaimer - if you happen to use and like this product, please don't take note of any of the following.
I recognise, that this product might be good for other skin types, it just wasn't for me!
This weekend I spend with my mother, and I had unfortunately forgotten my Lavera cleanser.
My mom had brought this Neutrogena cleanser in India, because I had asked her to buy me some of the Neutrogena Black Head scrub (that I use several times a week), because it is not available in Denmark any more.
I'd left this one with my mom as a back up.
I didn't think, that it would be a problem for me to use it, as I have never had any problems with the black head scrub.
Normally I know right away, if a product is good or bad, but I used it for two nights without any problems.
On the third night however I felt a slight sting, when applying it and shortly after my skin started burning and it felt itchy, prickly and sore.
And soon after my skin felt rough and uneven around my month and eyes.
It has now been a day and a half, since I last used it, and my skin is still looking very bad.
I feel really self-conscious about it, but still want you to see how bad it is.
The picture on the left is me with out make up about a week ago.
This is how my skin normally looks. I normally do have a bit of redness and occasional spots.
The picture on the right is from today, and you clearly see the difference.
It is very bad on the left side of my chin, but I have small bumps all around my mouth.
Under my left eye, it is really bad as well.
Today my eye area have been very itchy, and at one point I felt like I was nearly going insane!
I do have sensitive skin, so I'm normally very careful with what products I use.
But because this was a brand and line, I had used before, I really didn't think, my skin would react like this.
And also the fact, that the reaction didn't come until third use, was different for me.
I normally know right away and am therefore normally able to stop my skin from reacting.
Just to be fair to Neutrogena, the bottle did say, that it had 2 % salicylic acid.
But the blackhead scrub has salicylic acid as well, but probably not that much then.
So I actually don't know exactly what on the ingredients list caused this reaction, I just know, that it was this product!
So I would recommend be very careful with this product.
Especially if you have sensitive skin like me!
I really hope, this prevented some of you from making the same mistake as me!
