I have had a lot of problems with my hair since getting highlights in February.
It has been dry and damaged.
But now I have found the solution!
Let me just start by saying, that I got this tip from a youtuber (gemsmaquillage), who made a whole video about hair oils.
I would recommend you go see it, she really explains it very well.
The tip includes argan oil (surprise, surprise).
And I must agree, it's "The Gold of Morocco"!
The tip:
It's very easy, you just need some 100 % argan oil (cold pressed), a hairband and a shower cap.
After you evening cleansing routine, you run a generous amount of the argan oil through your hair.
I only put in the lengths of my hair, but I've just read, that it's good for dry scalp as well, so next time, I will massage it into the scalp as well.
Put your hair up in a bun and put your shower cap over.
Leave it over night.
You could just wrap your pillow in a towel, but I have this idea, that the humidity and warm, that evolves under the shower cap, do a bit extra :-)
In the morning, shower and wash you hair as normal.
OBS.:
There is a few things you should be aware of!
1. You will probably have to shampoo twice or use a very clarifying shampoo.
2. Pure argan oil smells like crap.
3. Do it on a night, where you know, that you have time to shower first thing in the morning, as you hair will be super greasy!
4. Make sure to get a shower cap, that isn't to tight, because it will make a nasty mark on your forehead!
The result:
My hair is so much softer and it just feels more healthy.
And this feeling last for a good 1-2 weeks!
Where to get Argan oil:
Many high end brands have 100 % argan oil, but don't be tempted, they charge over price big time.
Argan oil is not a cheap oil, but over £ 30 for it... come on John Masters!!??
I found mine on a danish website (jala-helsekost) for DKK 85,- (around £ 8), and it's cold pressed and organic, just like the one from John Masters.
They don't ship internationally, but try to google it!
You can use Jojoba oil as well, but I don't think it works quite as well.
So do your hair a favour and try it out!
You wont regret it :-)
Keep it softer <3
