Ways of application… Inspiration - My Foundation Application tools!

The key to stepping up your foundation game is the applicator.

I prefer using some sort of applicator and only very rarely use my fingers, but depending on the base I'm using, I prefer different tools.

Today I'm going to take you through my foundation/base applicators, and what I use them for.

An old favourite and the way I go, if I want a really flawless more full coverage base, is a good buffing brush.

The Real Technique Buffing Brush (or the Sephora Mineral Powder Brush) goes great with most foundations, but I don't really like it for my tinted moisturiser or mineral foundation.

For an quick fix and more natural skin-like finish, something like the Louise Young Super Foundation Brush is great.

In the same category, but not as dense I love the Sephora Pro Airbrush no. 55.

These kind of brushes, do however not go with all type of foundations - I haven't really found that a specific formula that goes best, but foundations, that you might already find a bit hard to blend in, will probably not work with these.

The flat top ELF Powder Brush is the perfect companion for Mineral Foundation.

I do also occasionally use it for other foundations, but mostly when I have missed a brush wash.

When all others fail I always turn to a sponge, and I recently got my hands on the sponge over all sponges, the Beauty Blender.

It takes a bit more work, but are absolute amazing for tinted moisturizers/BB creams and foundations, that are a bit harder to blend in.

The finish it gives is very natural and because of the wet sponge, it also gives a nice fresh feel.

So these are my foundations application preferences - what I go for depends on the day, the base I use, the finish I want and whatever I have clean.
